Our purpose is to get smarter together.
Data studies at CBS was established by early career scholars, but membership is open to all. We aim to attract and unite a diversity of perspectives to examine data as a focal phenomenon.

We meet to develop joint and individual projects and for a monthly reading club where we discuss papers on data studies around a guiding question.
We organize seminars, workshops, panels, events and tracks on a range of issues related to data and welcome visiting scholars.
We co-author position papers that carve out what data studies could be, and bring our work into the wider community through conferences and networks.
